EXAMPLE Every FKT is a story worth telling. What your attempt page looks like. The athlete, Wren Calloway, her crew and her day are made up. The route and every record on it are real.
Wren vs the S.C.A.R. record
On pace for the B goal
Projected 14:55:49 with their plan's slowdown.
C At their pace so far: the C goal, 15:14:49 with no slowdown.
Positions are estimates between CHECK INs, not exact live locations.
Adjusted pace: a published finish time spread over the course at an even effort, slower on the big climbs. No one's GPS is used.

A Stealth stretch
Wren went dark at Tricorner Knob, mile 15.2, the most remote shelter on the route, and came back at Newfound Gap, mile 30.4, about three hours later.
What the public saw
Waiting on the next update
No dot on the map, and the numbers held at her last check in.
The same words show for any gap, so nothing says why.
What Wren, her crew and her safety contact saw
- Her true spot on every check in, the whole time.
- The emergency button and the overdue alert, on as always.
- At Newfound Gap she held Go live for 2 seconds, and every check in she held came up at once.
How Stealth Mode works
- Stealth start: share a start window, not a time, and start up to 48 hours behind if you like.
- Go dark: hold for 2 seconds and you leave the public map at once. Every gap reads “Waiting on the next update”.
- Go live: hold again and you are back. Held check ins and posts go public only when you choose.
- Come out a set time behind: any delay up to 48 hours.
- Your crew can go stealth too, and their posts are held with yours.
- Your crew and safety contact always see where you are. Stealth turns on only after you add a safety contact.
