June Halverson
Duluth, MN · Nurse, night shift
Works nights, so the dark yards are her office hours.
The story
June works the night shift in an emergency department and jokes that a backyard is the only race that keeps her schedule. She drove down from Duluth with a camp stove and a notebook of every yard she has ever run: 33 at her first, 38 at her second. She is quiet in the corral and does her talking on the trail.
